WE RESPECT THE PLANET, PEOPLE AND ANIMALS...
We are trying to slow down, rethink the whole system of how fashion works and create sustainable and ethical clothing. We are constantly looking for new materials and new technologies to reduce our impact and do even better than today.
WHY SLOW FASHION
Definition: If H&M were to dress as McDonald's is to food, slow fashion would be haute cuisine; in short, it replaces quantity with quality. I'm not telling you that "fashion" today reduces production time and costs to achieve a selling price that is inversely proportional to the number of times marketing will make you buy a piece of clothing. This system exhausts everyone, human and environment.
Our offices are based in Lausanne, Switzerland and production is carried out in Switzerland and Poland.
We have chosen to produce in Poland and Switzerland to ensure good labour standards and fair wages for people working in the fashion industry. In addition, the companies we work with design small productions .
Our materials are manufactured in Italy and Portugal.
The choice of materials in the manufacture of a garment is essential.
The textile industry requires a large consumption of raw materials, which is why it is essential to select eco-responsible materials in order to reduce our environmental impact.
We have chosen to use materials such as Tencel/ lyocell, cotton and recycled plastic.
The clothing sector is responsible for 92 million tonnes of waste but also for a reduction in raw materials. That is why it is important to limit the consumption of natural resources.
We use more eco-friendly raw materials such as tencel as well as plastic waste from the oceans in order to get even closer to a circular economy, the materials can then be recycled ad infinitum.
We want to go even further and reduce the impact of our products after they are sold , which is why consumers can now exchange their branded clothing for discount coupons. And this, to allow clothes already worn to give them a new life. Clothes are then sold second-hand, an even more ethical way to consume .
The brand cares about social and environmental causes and we are committed to changing the fashion industry on a daily basis. All fabrics and garments are produced in an eco-responsible way, in Europe, respecting European labour law (Materials: Italy and Portugal/ Manufacturing: Poland and Switzerland). We regularly visit the companies we work with, allowing us to get to know the people who make our products personally. This allows us to have a permanent control on the manufacture and quality of the products. We have a close and trusting relationship with all our suppliers and we work towards a common goal of raising the standards of garment production.
The Lauriane L'Eplattenier brand uses RePack for all shipments to customers. It is a reusable packaging service, which allows a reduction in the number of cartons used in e-commerce and therefore a reduction in our impact on the planet. The packaging is made from recycled materials, a good way to evolve even more towards a circular economy. Each customer then returns the empty packaging free of charge. The company checks, cleans and redistributes the packaging, which can be reused for at least 40 uses.
